My name is Mariam Mastbrook, the Owner of Braiding Elegance. My love for festivals started with my father's ability to find a festival anywhere we adventured.  My childhood was filled with fond memories of interesting people and art. It would be years later that I would have an offer to learn to braid at Renaissance festivals. Sometimes your people find you when you need them the most.  After years of learning the art of braiding and making friendships, I was given an opportunity to branch out to smaller shows and private events. It’s in those long days, surrounded by fellow artists, that end in ridiculous laughter, I am reminded that I am exactly where I’m meant to be. Becoming Braiding Elegance has been one of my greatest adventures and would not have been possible without the support of family and friends. This support has made it possible for me to share the art of braiding through apprenticeships. Creating a whole new generation of talent, I get to share with the festival world.
